Operation Sindoor India’s biggest, most successful anti-terror strike: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared that Operation Sindoor was the most successful and far-reaching anti-terror mission in India’s history. Speaking at a women's empowerment event in Bhopal, he said the operation was launched in response to the brutal Pahalgam terror attack in April, in which 25 male tourists were selectively killed by Lashkar terrorists in the Baisaran meadow.

Calling the attack not just an act of violence but an assault on Indian culture and society, PM Modi said the terrorists “challenged the nari shakti of India” and paid the ultimate price. Operation Sindoor, named in honour of the widowed women who witnessed their husbands being gunned down, involved deep-penetration strikes by Indian forces inside Pakistan.

The Prime Minister confirmed that India not only destroyed major terror camps but also hit Pakistani military positions before agreeing to a ceasefire. “We penetrated hundreds of kilometres into Pakistan. It was a clear message — terrorism will be avenged, even inside their homes,” he said.

Modi also praised the all-women BSF team led by Assistant Commandant Neha Bhandari, who held their post in Akhnoor during heavy retaliatory fire from Pakistan. He highlighted this as a defining moment for women in Indian defence, along with the historic graduation of 17 female cadets from the National Defence Academy.
